Alice Vogel

VOGEL, Alice May - June 21, 1943 - October 30, 2015, beloved wife of Conrad Vogel of Pelly, entered eternal rest at the Kamsack Hospital at the age of 72 years.
Alice was born in Kamsack, to Danel and Cassie DeLaittre (nee Krakalovich). Alice was the 2nd of 5 children - Jane, Alice, Eileen, Joyce & Jerry. Alice was raised in the Maloneck District, north of Pelly. She attended the Maloneck School until grade 8 & then completed her education at Pelly School.
Alice lived in Flin Flon, 1960-1961 where she worked at a drug store.
In 1962, Alice moved back to Pelly and married Conrad Vogel on May 19, 1962 and were blessed with 2 children Terry & Donna.
The family lived on a farm SE of Pelly until the fall of 1962. The first 2 years of marriage the family moved a few times, including Williams Lake, BC & Churchbridge, SK. In 1966, Alice & her family moved to the Vogel family farm where Conrad continues to reside today.
Alice enjoyed raising her 2 children and working on the farm. In 1974, Alice began working for Canada Post at the Pelly Post Office. After 29 years of working for Canada Post, Alice retired in 2003 at the age of 60.
A big milestone for Alice was celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with Conrad in 2012. Alice enjoyed travelling to many places, including Nashville, Texas and Arizona, with Las Vegas being her # 1 destination of choice. Alice was a huge curling fan. Her most favorite vacation was in 2014 when she and Conrad spent a week in Yorkton watching the Grand Slam Curling event. Alice’s largest passion & source of pride and joy were her immaculate house, yard & garden. Tending to these items was not work to her, they were labours that she loved. Alice had a love of eagles and wolves that were showcased throughout her home and yard.
Through her life Alice was faced with battling cancer, starting at the age of 47 years. She was able to beat cancer twice before this last bout.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Conrad after 53 years of marriage; her children Terry (Mary-Jean) and Donna (Dwayne); grandchildren Erik, Kial and Cole; mother Cassie DeLaittre; sisters Eileen Brennan and Joyce Brennan; sisters-in-law Valerie DeLaittre, Randi (Brian) Clark and Dianne Faulds-Rosvold, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was predeceased by her father Danel DeLaittre; sister Jane Johnson, brother Jerry, father and mother-in-law Mike & Levina Vogel.
Funeral service was held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Pelly Community Hall with Laura Dahl officiating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery – Kamsack.
