Jiry, Deanna, June 3, 1932 – September 14, 2015, aged 83 years, entered eternal rest at the Kamsack Hospital. Deanna was born at Whitebeech, Saskatchewan to Samuel and Mary Popoff. Her first job was a chamber maid at the Benito Hotel in Benito, Manitoba. In 1951, she moved to New Westminister B.C. There she began working at the B.C. Distillery and later McMillian Bloedel. She married Bill Jiry in September of 1954. In 1976, she moved to Regina and worked at Oskar’s Sausage House for the next 16 years. In 1992 she worked part time at Alia’s Casual Wear and then Morton’s Ladies Wear in Regina. Finally in June of 1997 she retired completely.

Deanna loved to entertain and cook. She always served a delicious meal when company visited her. She liked to travel and enjoyed coming to Kamsack to visit family for the holidays.

Deanna was very organized and kept a very neat home.

In December of 2014, Deanna suffered a stroke. She lived at the Parkside Extendicare in Regina, until she moved to the Kamsack and District Nursing Home. This is where she resided until her passing at the Kamsack Hospital.

Deanna is survived brother Alex Popoff of Port Moody, B.C., nephew Ron (Joanne) Zarchikoff, of Kamsack, Sk., nieces; Doreen (Alex) Strilaeff of Benito, Mb., Karen Popoff of Port Moody, B.C., as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Mary Popoff, brother Peter Popoff, sisters; Anne (Peter) Zarchikoff, Mary and Pearl in infancy, niece Donna Smook and sister-in-law Margaret Popoff.

The family of Deanna wish to express gratitude to the staff at the Kamsack and District Nursing Home, Kamsack Hospital and to Dr. M. Bishop and Dr. M. Davies for their compassionate care.
