Douglas (Doug) Hilton
March 30, 2016Hilton, Douglas Albert, March 1, 1945 – March 30, 2016, entered eternal rest at the Kamsack Hospital at the age of 71 years.
Doug was born in Kamsack to Mark and Martha Hilton (nee Groff). He lived in Kamsack until 1964, when he married Dianne Yaworski on May 9, 1964. They then moved to Melville, where Doug was employed with the CNR. This is where they had three children; Doug Jr., Pamela and Gregory. The family then moved to Chilliwack, B.C., where Doug worked as a paving crew foreman. Doug absolutely loved his job and took great pride in his workmanship. Chilliwack was where they lived until they decided to retire to Kamsack, in 1995.
Doug was a firm Christian, who lately attended Parkland Evangelical Church. He also loved music and used his gift of guitar playing and singing, for God as he served in prison ministry and church music leading. He came to know the Lord in May of 1976, and was faithful in church involvement and service.
Doug’s hobbies were woodworking and scroll art. He was a thoughtful and loving husband and father.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, daughter Pamela (Trent) Harvey, son Doug (Stefanie), brothers; Leslie (Sylvia), Vernon (Sandy), one sister; Darlene (Gary) Spelrum as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents; Mark and Martha, son Gregory, brothers; Garnet and Daryl and nephew Prentice.
Funeral Service was held April 6, 2016 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service – Kamsack, with Pastor Stephan Ruten officiating.
