Emily Prokopchuk

Prokopchuk, Emily, August 15, 1930 – January 30, 2016 aged 85 years.  Emily was born to John and Katie Pelechaty (nee Kohut) and raised on a farm in the Beaver Plains District, Sk.  Emily was the youngest of four sisters and four brothers.  She married Mike Prokopchuk on October 21, 1950.  They raised five children together.  Emily worked many places in Kamsack as a cook.  She spent twenty years at the Eagelstone Lodge as a cook, she retired in 1993.  Emily loved to knit, crocket, read and do crossword puzzles. She also had a green thumb; her home was full of plants and she had a large garden.  She had a good sense of humour and a heart of gold, always thinking of others instead of herself.  Emily was a dear and loving Mom, Grandma (Baba) and friend who will be missed by all.

 She is survived by her five children; Cliff Prokopchuk of Melville, SK., Carol (Vern) Nechiporenko of Saskatoon, Sk., Randy (Doreen) Prokopchuk of Yorkton, Sk., Charlotte (J.P.) Piche of Saskatoon, Sk., Cindy (Dallas) Cobbe of Avonlea, Sk., six grandchildren; Tyler, James, Kelly, Kristi, Taylor, Ashley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emily is predeceased by her husband, Mike in 2002 parents; John in 1958 and mother Katie in 1974, brothers; Metro, Mike, Nick, Steve and Bill sisters; Nelly Wolochyn, Mary Diduck and Annie Becenko.
