George Airriess

George Robert Airriess (d. July 10th, 2015) of Togo, SK was born June 26, 1927, on the same 1/4 section farm site on which he recently passed. He was 88 years old, and the 11th child of 12 children born to Alfred and Sarah Airriess. He is predeceased by his 5 elder brothers: Frank, Philip (Mary), Thomas (Jean), Glen and John, as well as by 4 of his elder sisters, Rose (Barney Freeman), Joyce (Gordon Gardener), Dorothy (Tom Mclean), and Emma (James Wooley). He is survived by his elder sister Alice; as well as by his younger sister, Isobel. George loved the farm and farming. He was hard working and the very best of neighbours. George was a man you could depend on, and he was always ready to help whenever he was needed. He was married to Rose Marie Strom on June 26th (his birthday), 1954 in the town of Wadena, SK. He is survived by his wife and 5 of his 6 children: Leonard of Edmonton, AB, Frank (Karen Bodnarek) of Kamsack, SK, Stephen of Spruce View, AB, Gerald of Edmonton, AB, and Alfred (Lynda Airriess) of Kamsack. He was predeceased by his only daughter, Sarah (Darrell Severson) of Kamsack, SK, in 2014. He was loved dearly by all his children, grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed. George often volunteered at Togo Cemetery, and in lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the Togo Cemetery fund.
