Lucy Romaniuk

     ROMANIUK Lucy Anne, March 26, 1943 – October 5, 2014 aged 71 years passed away peacefully at the Kamsack Hospital with her family at her side. Lucy was born to parents Thomas and Effie Andrichuk (nee Butula) in Kamsack.  In October 1962, she married the love of her life Mike Romaniuk and together they raised two sons, Michael and Robert.  Lucy was known for helping others and her friendly straight-forward personality that trait would become an asset for her careers.  She worked at Eaton’s, Sears, GNB Construction, Home Care and Woodlander Hotel.  For over 25 years, Lucy was the agent in the Kamsack area for Fine Option – Community Service Program for the Department of Justice.

                Lucy door was always open for friends and family to come and enjoy a good visit, faithfully the coffee was on and snacks were provided.  In her retirement, she had a weekly routine consisting of trips to the Painted Hand Casino and bingo in Yorkton and watching Wrestling and Dancing with the Stars.  She loved her animals and had names for all of them.

Lucy’s family was her prized possession and her granddaughters, Makayla and Meesha were the light of her life.

                Lucy was known for her strong work ethic, generosity, trustworthy personality and her sharp wit.  Her down to earth personality never turned anyone away from her home she always saw the good in everyone.  The last fourteen months Lucy fought a brave and courageous battle against cancer.  She will be truly missed.

                Lucy is predeceased by her husband, Mike in 1994 parents, Thomas and Effie Andrichuk.  She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Bonita) and Michael (Cindy) granddaughters Makayla and Meesha.

                Visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Funeral Service Friday, October 10, 2014, both from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack with Gwen Reilkoff officiating. Interment followed at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack.
