Ruth Joan Sushelnitski was born September 24, 1941 at St. Boniface Hospital in Transcona to Nicholas and Jennie (Holinski) Tobie.

She received her education at Transcona until grade eight.  Ruth worked at various jobs until the birth of her son, Tim Haverlock.  She then went to work at the candy factory Nutty Club.

Ruth married Tony Sushelnitski of Arran, Saskatchewan on July 3, 1965.  Together they had four children, Michael, Steven, Lisa, and Ronnie.  Ruth worked hard as a mother and homemaker as they moved to Swan River, Benito, and Arran.

When their marriage ended Ruth moved back to Winnipeg and worked in a nursing home.  In 1987 she moved back to Kamsack to be closer to her children.  In November 2017, she became a resident of the Eaglestone Lodge.  Ruth and Tony remained friends until his death.

Ruth enjoyed getting together with her family.  She often spoke of her brothers playing musical instruments with her and her sisters singing.  Ruth loved gardening and flowers.  She was a big fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, baseball, figure skating, curling, music, and of course Princess Diana.

Ruth will always be remembered for her contagious, beautiful laugh.  Ruth passed away surrounded by her family on January 6, 2018 at the Yorkton Health Center.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her children; Michael (Gwen) and their daughter Tanya (Maneesh) Sadana, Steven (Gale) and their children Stephanie (Tom Hazlett) and their daughter Sophia, Allyssa (Darrian) Gemme, Dustin, Matthew, and Murray, Lisa Kazakoff and her children Andy (Cheryl), Alanna (Chris), Jasmine (Dylan), Taylor (Kade) and her son Mateo, Ronnie and his sons Miles, Austin, and Orin, Tim Haverlock and his children Shelbe and Graeson; her brother Roy (Mae) Tobie, sisters Rosie Tobie and Rita Giancola, brother- in- law Donnie Slota, and many nieces and nephews and friends.  Ruth was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Jennie Tobie, brother Orest, sister Carol Slota, and brother-in-law Tony Giancola.
