Ann Kondratoff Obituary

KONDRATOFF: Ann, October 7, 1922 – February 14, 2024. Age 101 years old

The family of Ann Kondratoff of Kamsack and formerly from Pelly sadly announce her passing on February 14, 2024 at the Kamsack Nursing Home. She was 101 years old.
Ann was born on the farm on October 7, 1922 to George and Mary (Antifaeff) Dootoff. She attended Racing Lake School. As a young girl she worked for families in the neighbourhood. In 1942 she married Alex Kondratoff. They were blessed with two sons, Allan in 1950 and Ken in 1956. They ran a mixed farming operation raising registered horned Hereford cattle. Due to Alex’s health they had to quit farming and move into Kamsack in 1975.

Moving to Kamsack meant a brand new home. She was thrilled to be decorating and furnishing her new home, landscaping a new yard, and meeting her new neighbours. She still had a big garden and many flowers. Her prize climbing rose would greet you at their back door. She was an exceptional cook and always enjoyed entertaining and feeding her company. Their retirement included camping and fishing at various lakes with various camping companions. Playing cards with friends was also a highlight. Ann enjoyed music and singing. She sang with the Pelly Doukhobor Choir and with her family when they got together. She was thrilled to work at the Nursing Home. Fellow workers, Christmas parties, and of course the paycheck. When the grandkids came along she decided it was more important to be grandma so stayed home to babysit. She continued to volunteer at the Kamsack Hospital Auxiliary. She joined the Kamsack Horticultural Society and enjoyed learning new things about gardening and joined the tours of various gardens. Their apples won first prize in Saskatchewan. Being grandma was very important to her. She spoke proudly of her grandchildren and always remembered birthdays and special occasions. She was a loving mother, a caring grandma/great-grandma, and a kind friend. She will be missed and remembered fondly by all.
Ann was predeceased by her parents George and Mary, husband Alex, four sons at birth, son Ken, grandson Nathan. Brothers George, Jim (Hazel), Bill (Mary), Nick (Linda), and Fred. Sisters Lucy (Frank) Walkow, Mary (John) Boudoff, Tina (Bill) Slobodian, Vera (Robert) Bryant, and Fran (Keith) Ewart.
She is survived by her son Allan (Brenda), grandchildren Nolan (Taunya), Jessica (JC), and Tyler (Samantha,) great grandchildren Isabelle, Charlie, Emily, and Ella, Jessica and Tyler’s mother Gail, and sister-in-law Ida Theodore and numerous nieces and nephews.
