Agnes Betz Obituary

     Betz, Agnes Marie Born June 22, 1921 – July 7, 2018 aged 97 years. Agnes was born in the Bear Stream District. Agnes was the second of three children born to Paul and Ludmilla (nee Engelman) Vereenooghe.

     At the age of six she moved with her family to St. Philips. She received her education at St. Philips, and at Catholic Schools in Winnipeg and Yorkton. Agnes married George Betz in 1949 at St. Philips Church. They lived and raised there family of four children on the family farm in the St. Philips District, until moving to Kamsack in 2017, where she lived until her passing on July 7, 2018.

     Agnes is predeceased by her parents Paul and Ludmilla Vereenooghe, her sister Mathilda, and her husband George.

     She is survived by her sister Angela Wilgosh, her children Larry, Judy (Rod), Ken (Norma), and Randy.  Three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, sister in-law Elizabeth Hubic, brother in law and sister in law Rudy and Pauline Betz.

      Prayer service was held July 10, 2018 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service – Kamsack.  Mass of Christian Burial was held July 11, 2018 from St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Kamsack with Father Franklin Emereuwa officiating.   Those so wishing may make memorial donations to St. Phillip’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or Mass Offering, as tokens of remembrance.
