Alex Uhlow Obituary


UHLOW, Alexander William born June 3, 1949 - August 20, 2019 aged 70 years.  

   Alex was born on June 3rd, 1949 second son of William & Tena Uhlow at the Kamsack Union Hospital. Brother Peter was pretty excited to have this little baby brother.   Alex took all his schooling in Kamsack graduating grade 12 in 1966/1967. Following graduation he moved to Flin Flon to work in the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. spending about year and half there. Alex returned to Kamsack in 1969, to go to work for his brother Peter at P & J Plumbing and Heating Ltd. who offered him a deal of .15 cents an hour more. His occupation was a licensed Journeyman Plumber, taking his education in Journeyman Plumbing and also receiving his Gas Fitting ticket at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. From 2004 to 2014 he had his own Plumbing business.  For many years he sat on the Trade Advisory Board this was a board that establishes the criteria for the Plumbing Trade, he also owned and operated Clean Coin Laundry.  Alex had many hobbies, he was very proud of his Pilots License, in his younger years he was in Air Cadets. Alex and Debb always enjoyed going to Air Shows. Other hobbies include fishing, love of cars and his love of cats especially Rufus and Squeakie. Also motorcycling, snowmobiling and Recreational Hockey games especially the Kamsack Aches & Pains fundraiser for the rink. Alex met the love of his life Debb in 1995, and was married in 2006. He enjoyed being a father to Joedy, including grandchildren Gracyn, Trey & Christopher. Alex was predeceased by his father William in 1972, mother Tena in 1987, great nephew Brad in 2005, father in law Paul in 2004, and mother in law Francis in 2014, and his favorite cat Rufus in April 2019. Alex is lovingly remembered by his wife Debb, son Joedy (Jenn), grandchildren Gracyn Trey and Christopher, his special cat Squeakie, brother Peter and Joyce, nieces Joanne and Randy (Brendon & Kayla), Janice and Fernando (Zach), nephew James and Suzanne and there families. Brother in laws Doug & Bernie (Bobbi & Ryan), Clarence & Lorna (Shaun) and their families, extended family and many special friends and neighbors.     

A Celebration of Life service was held on August 24, 2019 from the O.C.C. Hall, Kamsack,Sk.
