Barry was a face in the community that everyone recognized. He had a heart of gold.
"A voluteer Extrordaire." If there was a job to be done. Barry was there, offering his assistance. With his quiet, reserved demeanor, he could easily be overlooked, but he was there, working diligently in the background. I first became aquainted with Barry when as a young teen, he joined the 4-H Light Horse Club and later the Kamsack Horse Club. He loved horses and he loves being part of the group.
He left a message on our phone a while back. He was in town and was going to drop-in for a visit. "Sorry we missed you." Rest in Peace, my friend."

Whether it was the Kamsack Rodeo, a trail ride or a team penning competition, everyone could count on Barry to assist in any way possible. His love of horses, as far as I can recall, dates back to our 4-H light horse days, although I'm sure it was much earlier! Barry was a great volunteer to our community and also supported so many causes in the area. During the last few months it was awesome to see people say "thanks" and give back to him. His presence will be missed by many. Rest in peace our equine friend.

No more " Barry wake up the library isn't for sleeping",as he leans back snoring in the computer chair. I'll miss that. He always did something to make me laugh. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

I wanted to share this poem with all of you, as it has been so soothing for me and has helped me through............
IF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life,
I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and hug you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you,
and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you.
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past. "
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there, in your heart.

I have known Barry since our junior high school days which would be around 1978-1979. He was very soft spoken person who was easy to get along with and he never had a bad word to say about anybody. He never meant no harm to anybody and was a man with few words. It will be hard not seeing him uptown anymore. I will miss him and I`m sure a lot of people will too.
