Dennis Duchminski
July 11, 2017
Dennis Walter Duchminski was born on July 5, 1962 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was the eldest son born to Benjamin and Jeanne Duchminski (nee Yurkiw). Dennis received his education in Edmonton and Spruce Grove, Alberta. After graduation, he worked full time as a shipper receiver and parts person for Brandt Tractor in Edmonton. He continued his employment there for over 34 years until his health forced him to retire.
Dennis loved to hike and to golf. His fondest dream was to own a private golf course and he spent much of his spare time designing golf courses.
He enjoyed gardening and spent a lot of time digging the weeds out of the lawn by hand. His flower beds included at least one yellow plant - a yellow begonia, his favourite plant.
The mountains were an annual vacation spot for Dennis. Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Yosemite Park and really any park that he could reach by car. There he acquired a real love for wildlife.
Dennis had a quiet, gentle, kind, loving disposition. Always ready to help others. His good sense of humour was enjoyed by all.
Dennis succumbed to cancer at the age of 55, on July 11, 2017 at the Stony Plain Hospital with his mother Jeanne and his brother Alan at his side. He was predeceased by his father Benjamin, on September 5, 2015.
Funeral Rite was held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10am at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of All Saints, in Kamsack, SK., with Rev. Michael Faryna officiating. Interment followed at Sliding Hills Christian Cemetery, Mazeppa, SK.
