Donna Cherkas Obituary

    Donna passed away in the Kamsack Hospital on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents Mike and Helen Kazakoff, in-laws William and Katryna Cherkas, husband John, brother  Harold Kazakoff, oldest son Darryl, grandson Derek, brothers-in-law Nick and Steve Cherkas, and sister-in-law Lillian Cherkas.

   Donna is survived by her three sons Ron (Bonnie) of Regina and their children Lee (Natasha), Matthew (Laken), and Megan, Cameron of Kamsack, Sheldon (Lana) of Lloydminster and their boys Rylan and Dylan; great-grandchildren Bailey, Gabriel, Quinn and Ella Cherkas; grandson Ben Cherkas of Yorkton; sister Kaye (Bob) Harvey of Saskatoon; brother-in-law Paul Cherkas of Yorkton; sister-in-law Phyllis Cherkas of Regina; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Donna grew up on a farm south of Pelly, SK. She married John in 1950 and they moved to their farm 12 miles south of Kamsack. She helped John with the farm chores while raising their four sons. Donna enjoyed curling, fishing, and playing cards.  After the farm auction, she moved into Kamsack where she resided until her passing.

   We would like to give a special thank you to Kamsack Home Care and to the wonderful staff at the Kamsack Hospital.

   A memorial service will be held in Kamsack at the Wolkowski Funeral Home in the spring of 2020 to celebrate Donna's life. To leave a note of condolence for the family, please visit Wolkowski.ca
