Lena Fry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Lena.  She was born in Runnymede, SK., and attended Runnydale School till grade 8.  She moved to Kamsack to live with her uncle Jim and aunt Mary Barisoff.  She worked for Paul and Mary Cramer at Cramer’s Dry Cleaners for years and then for Mike and Annette Cassick.  She then went to McCleod’s and worked there till she retired. 

     Lena married Jay Fry on September 23, 1960.  Together they raised two children Robert and Cathy.  Lena loved her garden, her kitchen, as well as summers at Madge Lake.  She was always ready to go fishing.  Lena belonged to Westminster Memorial United Church Woman’s League and coached Cathy’s, softball team.  She was always willing to help people out or feed them.

     She is survived by her son Robert (Tanya) grandchildren Tessa, Kaila (Jason), Cole daughter Cathy, brother Tom (Irma) Trofimenkoff, brother-in-law Walter Lesiuk, sister-in-law Francis Traff and many nieces and nephews.

Lena is predeceased by her parents William and Anna Trofimenkoff (nee Koochin), husband Jay, brother Wally Traff, and sister Helen Lesiuk.
