Allard Danielson Obituary

Allard Dave Danielson

Allard Dave Danielson passed away suddenly on May 5, 2026, at the age of 85.

He was born on the family farm just west of Madge lake on the family homestead January 27, 1941. The family eventually sold the land and moved to Pelly where he went to school and then after school a brief work stint building grain elevators with his brother and father. He enlisted in the military in 1959 and did basic training in Calgary and Vernon. He was stationed with NATO in Germany and Holland and once discharged, he returned to Pelly, SK.

Allard started working in the refinery in Kamsack, then transitioned into a role at Gulf and eventually Petro-Canada as a bulk fuel dealer.

He met Colleen Saranchuk, his lifelong love in Pelly and they eventually settled into Kamsack with Allard building their family home alongside his friend Harvey Martiniuk. Allard and Colleen married August 2, 1969, and welcomed their only son Devin in 1976. Allard spent a lot of time coaching Devin in both hockey and baseball.

He enjoyed farming, hunting and puttering at the Saranchuk family farm north of Aaran and when that was sold, spent the last 5 years enjoying the farm just outside of Veregin – forever puttering in the shop/yard.

One of his favorite past times was lounging on the couch watching hockey or sports on TV, and on occasion, with a golden retriever on the end of the couch.

Allard played hockey throughout his life, and was especially proud of a gold medal the men’s senior team won on the east coast in 1977. He often talked about playing hockey on an outdoor rink when he was a boy and how much he enjoyed that. He also played fast pitch and slow pitch as he got older. Allard once hit 3 home runs in a senior men’s slow pitch provincial tournament in Canora that made the paper.

Allard was a friend to everyone. Always willing to lend a hand, whether it was building something, mowing a lawn, shoveling a driveway or simply showing up to have a coffee. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength will be forever remembered.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Colleen Danielson and his son Devin Danielson (Tanya), his brother Richard, Oscar (Caroline) and sister Alice as well as multiple sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his mother Tina and father Oscar, brothers Bill, George, Art and sister Myrtle.

There will be a celebration of life at Wolkowski Funeral Service in Kamsack on Wednesday, May 13 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Allard’s name to Paws & Claws Animal Rescue.
