Anne Sembaluk Obituary

Anne Sembaluk (nee Soloninko) of Kamsack, Saskatchewan passed away on April 25, 2025, six days after her 99th birthday at the Kamsack Nursing Home. Anne was born on April 19, 1926 to Mike and Pearl (Bilyk) Soloninko. She was born and raised on the family farm south of Kamsack.

After completing her education at Poplar Point School and honing her secretarial skills at Dominion Business College in Winnipeg, Mom returned home to help on the farm when illness struck the family.

In 1946 Mom married a neighbor’s son, John Sembaluk and together they built a life and home filled with love, laughter, and the joys of raising three cherished children - Bryan, Joanne, and John.

Mom's culinary talents were legendary, filling the house with the mouth-watering aromas of freshly baked bread, flaky pies, and savory cabbage rolls and perogies that drew the family together around the table. Her lemon meringue and Saskatoon pies were a particularly favored treat that she generously shared with the many friends and visitors who were always welcome in their home.

Together with Dad, Mom embraced a life of shared passions, from the lively card games, pool games and dancing that brought them closer to their cherished friends, to the memorable trips and performances that showcased their graceful moves on the dance floor.

Family was everything to Mom, and nothing brought her more joy than spending cherished time with her beloved children and grandchildren.  Whether we gathered around the kitchen table for games of cards, car drives through the countryside, or simply sitting together sharing treasured memories of days gone by, Mom reveled in the company of her adoring family. She lived for those special visits, counting down the days until the next one.  For Mom, having her children and grandchildren by her side, sharing in the simple joys of togetherness, was the greatest blessing of all.

Even in retirement, Mom's zest for life and love of community shone through in her active involvement with the Senior Citizens Club and the warm hospitality she extended to all who entered her home. Through the challenges of aging and illness, Mom's spirit and the love of her family sustained her, and even as we mourn her loss, we celebrate the beautiful legacy of a life well-lived, a mother deeply loved, and memories that will forever dance in our hearts. It gives us solace knowing she is with Dad again.
