Aubrey was born in Kamsack, SK. and was raised by his mother Joyce Quewezance. At age 5 he went to St. Philips IRS. He was quite academic and a great athlete. Aubrey went to St. Philips IRS up to grade 8 and he was male athlete of the year. He also attended Lebret IRS, St. Joseph’s High School and Pelly High School. He attended ABE to complete his grade 12. He graduated from Band Development Program and Recreation Technology. Convocated from SIIT Addictions Program.  Aubrey worked at the SHWC & Cree Nation Treatment Haven.
Aubrey mainly played defence for Cote Chiefs and Cote Selects Hockey teams. He also played fastball volleyball and basketball with St. Philip’s Blues winning many championships there too. They won the Canadian Native Fastpitch Championship in 1987. He also played slowpitch with the Strongquills in Keeseekoose. At 50 years of age he took up golf and made 3 holes-in-one.
Aubrey married Zelda December 23, 1981, exactly 7 years after they met. They celebrated 40 years of marriage. Aubrey had 6 children.
Aubrey was committed to traditional teachings and practices and used them in his work. He loved to share the teachings on gathering medicines.  Aubrey was honest, joking and teasing.
