Wionzek, Audrey Dora – December 27, 1933 - February 6, 2022 of Buchanan, entered eternal rest at the Canora Gateway Lodge at the age of 88 years.

Audrey was born to William (Bill) and Ann Wasylowich (nee Unick).  She was the oldest of five children.

Audrey helped her parents in the Hi-Way Café in Buchanan until 1972, when her parents retired and closed the cafe.

In 1949, she met the love of her life, Henry Wionzek. The two were later married on November 18, 1956, at St Ann’s R.C Church in Buchanan and were married for 55 years till Henry’s passing in 2012.  They were blessed with two children Allan in 1957 and Karen in 1959.  They were blessed with three grandchildren Andrea, Reece and Rhianna.  She is also blessed with 7 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Reein, Zarin, Sawyer, Sterling, Atlin and Tannen.

She was known as Baba to all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone who knew her.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and visiting relatives, friends and neighbours.

She enjoyed baking for her family and would always make sure her grandchildren had fresh buns and farmer’s brownies.  She enjoyed playing cards with friends and her grandchildren.  She always liked to read the newspaper and listen to the news and always knew the current events.  She was never shy to give her opinion or two cents. Audrey enjoyed spending time in her garden in town and at the farm.  She also enjoyed making Christmas Eve gatherings for family and friends. She always had an open door for visitors and will always be remembered for her famous pancakes we call baba’s pancakes.

She was blessed to have a wonderful life and leaves many memories for the people who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Allan (Fay Kowal) Wionzek, daughter Karen Wionzek, three grandchildren Andrea (Darren) Godhe, Reece (Andrea) Wionzek, Rhianna (Quinn) Stewart, seven great grandchildren MacKenzie and Sawyer Wionzek, Reein, Zarin & Atlin Godhe and Sterling and Tannen Stewart, as well as her sisters and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews, family and friends. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Henry, parents William (Bill) and Ann, brother Alfred, two great grandchildren Danin Godhe and Rhett Stewart.
