After a full and beautiful life, it is with great sadness that the family of Bella Pronyk announce her passing on December 29, 2020, her 94th birthday.
Bella lived each day with gratitude and contentment. Through her quiet strength, and peaceful and loving nature, she faced all of what life brought her with a joyful and open heart. She was always patient, always kind, and loved unconditionally.
Bella committed her life to the wellbeing of her family in all of her many roles: as a daughter, sister, and auntie; and wife, mother, baba, and super-baba. She took great pleasure in cooking delicious meals for family and friends at home, and at the church. Bella always had a large garden filled with vegetables, fruit, and flowers, and got so much joy from tending it, and from sharing it. She loved to play cards, sing, and dance, and was accomplished at sewing and crocheting. She had an unbreakable faith in God, and lived in service to her church and church community.
Bella’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Ruth (Glen) Boychuk, Audrey (Fraser) Gray; grandchildren Tyson (Elizabeth) Boychuk, Amanda Boychuk, and Jared Smelski; great-grandchildren Jonathan and Jason Smelski, and Whitney Boychuk; sister-in-law Irene Pronyk, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bella was the last remaining member of Fred and Polly Puritch’s family. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Paul, sisters Betty, Sophie, Mary, Doris, Rose, and Helen; brothers Nick, John, Bill, and Mike.
Bella’s interment will be a private graveside service, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Roblin, with Rev. Fr. Brent Kuzyk officiating. Donations in memory of Bella, may be made to the Crocus Court Personal Care, Roblin. When it is safe to do so, a memorial service will be held for Bella so that family and friends can celebrate her life and honour her memory together.
If there ever comes a day when we can’t get together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.
Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
