Zarowny, Bessie Born June 24, 1924 – September 23, 2021 aged 97 years
Bessie was born in Popular Bluff area to parents William and Christina Dykun (nee Husak). She was the second youngest of six children. She attended Evadale School in Popular Bluff district and then moved to Winnipeg. There she worked as a clerk at Perth’s Drycleaners and then as a waitress.
Due to health issues, she returned home around 1957/58 and lived with Baba (her Mom) for a short time. She met Carl Zarowny and they married on August 1959. In 1961, they had a son, Arnold whom they doted on their entire lives.
They lived on the farm until approximately 1984, at which point they, moved to Pelly. Carl passed away in July 1997. Arnold and Bessie continued living in Pelly for several years after, until health issues required them to move to Kamsack in 2005.
Bessie had a big heart and was very kind and generous. She was hard working, set in her way and meticulous and clean to a fault. She was very spiritual and loved to read. Bessie loved flowers and gardening and going for walks with Arnold. She was a devoted and loving mother to Arnold.
Bessie is survived by her son Arnold, brother Johnny (Pauline) Dykun and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Carl, parents William and Christina Dykun, sisters Mary Morrissette, Hazel Woytkiw and Pauline Stasiuk and brother Peter Dykun.
Visitation was held on September 29, 2021 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack graveside service followed at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack with Pastor Stephen Ruten officiating.
