Diane Joyce Tourangeau was the 6th born of 8 kids and at the time the baby girl to 5 older brothers, she was the only girl until 1986, when her baby sister Megan was born in October 1986. Diane lived on Cote F.N. until 1994 and moved to Regina where she lived until her passing. Diane attended CGCEC on Cote First Nation, then elementary school at Centennial School in Regina and then Scott Collegiate high school, she was very smart and resourceful and a talented beader. She was a hard worker, did quite a few little odd jobs throughout her life but being a mom to Elijah and Janine was her best job. Her son Elijah was born June 12, 1999 and Janine March 29, 2006, being a mom was one of her accomplishments in her life. Diane had a huge heart, very caring, selfless and made many friends throughout the years in Regina. She was always giving and sharing what she had and inviting people into her home to stay, in a post on her Facebook page she posted “I don’t have much myself but whatever it is I have to offer to others I can’t see others hungry and cold I took a lot of people in and I still do”, she did things without expecting anything in return. Diane was close to her siblings and protective of her brothers and sisters, she was especially close to Megan and was “cheap” with sharing Megan with the rest of the family, Diane would get mad and be yelling “bring my f**king baby back!!!” whenever anyone would be holding Megan when she was a baby. The sudden loss of Gordon in 2016 deeply affected Diane which she never fully accepted, those two were very close and fought all the time but were quick to make up and are united again on the other side. All her siblings have memories of something she said, something she did, some kind of situation she got into, as she was always up to something, memories that we will hold forever. You could always expect the dancing queen herself to be non-stop dancing at any function that involved music and dancing, she would be on the dancefloor the whole night. Diane was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, cousin, aunty and best friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Diane was predeceased by maternal grandparents Peter and Alma Badger, paternal grandparents Fortunate and Doris Tourangeau, brother Gordon Tourangeau.
Diane leaves to mourn her son Elijah Tourangeau and daughter Janine Desjarlais, father Ben Tourangeau, mother Shirley Irwin, step father Darren Irwin, brothers; Ricky(Andrea) Tourangeau, Chuck(Shane) Tourangeau-Brazeau, Allan Tourangeau, Justin Tourangeau, Peter(Angel) Tourangeau; sister Megan Tourangeau, sister in law Jana Mahingen, nieces; Ravin, Michelle, Shaynah, Lovelly, Clarissa, Larissa, Winona and nephews; Tyrell, Max, Junior, Avery and Benji, great nieces/nephews; Sebastian, Grayson, Kylo, Penny, Ava and Ben, aunties; Jeanette(Rocky) O’Soup, Seraphine Badger, Elaine(Pee Wee) Badger, Margaret Badger, Corinne(Lambert) Cote and uncle Jon(Andrea) Badger, and numerous other family members from the Cote, Severight, Badger, Tourangeau and Whitehawk families.
