Donald Robert Rose, age 77, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Yorkton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born March 4, 1942 in the Pelly District to Robert and Elizabeth (Sterzer) Rose. On November 18, 1961 he married Helen Swerhun and they moved to Kamsack while Don worked construction and they raised 3 children. Don worked most of his career in road construction, with Broda Construction finishing his career working with Kam-Crete.
Don was a faithful church goer, helping in any way he could. Don’s passions, besides his family, included hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors. He loved working in his yard gardening and trying to grow different trees and plants. He had a love for dogs, horses and playing cards. Don was a volunteer fireman for many years.
As busy as his working life was, he always took time for his family. They did a lot of traveling in Canada and throughout the States.
Left to love him forever is his wife Helen of 58 years, sons Leonard, Dale (Christine), and daughter Margaret. Seven grandchildren Candise (Chad), Cassandra, Eddie, Shyanne (Logan), Shiloe, Jasmine, Wyatt, great grandchildren Owen and Emma. Sisters, Marjorie (Ernie) Adams, Joyce Green, Brother Albert (Jean) Rose, sister-in-law Verna Rose, brother- in- law Ed Hay, as well as numerous extended family members.
Don was predeceased by his parents, brother Clarence, sister Shirley Hay, and granddaughter Megan White.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, November 1, 2019 from St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Kamsack, SK., with interment at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, SK.
