Elizabeth "Dottie" Frances Hubic

A Memorial Mass Service will be held for Dottie Hubic on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the St Philips Roman Catholic Church.

   'Dottie' Elizabeth Frances (Betz) Hubic passed away peacefully at Chartwell Trilogy Long Term Care Facility on November 2, 2021. 
   She is predeceased by her beloved husband Andrew Hubic, her parents George and Josephine Betz, her sister and brother-in-law Jo and Lou Golay,’ brothers and sisters-in-law George And Agnes Betz, Jack and Evelyn Betz and brothers Frank and Lawrence.
   She leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law Rudy and Pauline Betz of Melville, two daughters, Sharon (john Shipton) of Toronto and Linda (John Berezowski of Inverness, Scotland, eight grandchildren and their partners and five great-grandsons, as well as nieces and nephews and cousins.
   “I have so many fond memories of Pelly and both of the houses that Grandma lived in.  I think our memories of our grandparents are so intertwined with the town itself, it’s a special place for us all.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to know Grandma and Grandpa so well.  I will miss her homemade donuts and apple turnovers and jam jams and fruit salad in ice cream buckets!  I love that Grandma used to let Kate and I sleep in her bedroom, in sleeping bags and then all cozied up in bed after Grandpa died. Even camped in her living room, I remember her staying up and holding our hands until we fell asleep but I also often remember her falling asleep first!  Trips to Norquay in the yellow car always include stopping to buy treats. She always said ‘Cold had, warm heart” and I still think of that one often. She gave us unconditional love, which is pretty special.  I don’t ever remember her being impatient or annoyed even though we must have been a lot of energy in that little house, and she gave us the full run of the place.  I like to think she enjoyed being a Grandma as much as we loved her.”
