BENNETT – Florence (Fay) January 17, 1928 – November 16, 2024 aged 96 years
Fay had many passions in life with devotion to her family and God being most important. She was well known for her cooking, baking, sewing and bountiful gardens. With encouragement from her husband Charlie, her 5 pin bowling talents took her to many national tournaments across Canada. Fay’s gardening skills led her to be one of the founding members of the Farmers’ Market. After moving from the farm into town, Fay continued her custom cooking which included her borscht and perogies, baking and often making all the pies for the band fundraisers. Besides being a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican church, Fay was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Royal Purple. Fay was an amazing seamstress, sewing many items from simple patching to formal gowns for weddings and graduations. Fay took great pride in her cooking as no one left her table hungry, thirsty or without a care package for later. Anyone who visited Fay was always greeted with a smile and a hug. Fay lived a simple life and believed in sharing whatever she had with anyone who needed help. Fay fully accepted everyone as they were without judgement.
Fay was predeceased by her husband Charles and infant son Gerry, parents Wasyl and Jenny Kazakoff of Kamsack, sisters and brother in laws Kathleen and Mike Woroniuk of Theodore, Gloria and Mike Vereschagin of Veregin, Allan Chernoff of Kelowna, Jerry Gara of Theodore, sister Eileen Kazakoff of Kamsack and brother Billie Kazakoff of Kamsack.
Fay will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Fay is survived by her five children, daughters; Lorraine (Barry) Trenholm of Regina, Dianne (Percy) Smutt of Kamsack, Beverley Bennett of Alberta, and her sons; James (Heidi) Bennett of Kamsack and Allen Bennett of Kamsack. Fay left behind grandchildren Donna (Eric) St. Amand of Calgary, Jennifer Jans of Regina, Travis (Ainsley) Smutt of Cochrane, Chantel (Brendan) Smutt of Regina, Alana Smutt of Kamsack, Christopher (Becky) Bennett of Calgary, Troy and Katelyn Bennett-McCrea of British Columbia; as well as eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
