TROFIMENKOFF, Florence Sam Born November 2, 1936 – October 23, 2021 aged 85 years
Florence was born and raised on a farm north of Veregin, she was the second youngest child to parents Sam and Mary (nee Wasalenkoff). She attended Tolstoi school up to grade 8, she was an avid athlete and excelled at running aswell as a champion skipper. On December 2, 1954 she married Michael Trofimenkoff and together they settle down south of Veregin, five years later they moved to their own farm and together they raised four boys.
Florence took great pride in baking bread, sewing, cooking and enjoyed visiting on the phone. Her passion was for her very large garden where she canned and preserved vast amounts of fruits and vegetables.
She is survived by four sons Garry (Lorna), Randy (Barb), Wayne (Linda) and Sidney (Shelley) eight grandchildren Loren, Leanne, Jenna, Kade, Tamara, Juanita, Vanessa and Colin and four great grandchildren Mateo, Enzo, Harrison and Harper brother Sam, and sister Mary Strocen.
She is predeceased by her husband Mike, parents Sam and Mary, sister Mildred Horkoff, brother Mike, brother-in-law George Horkoff and sister-in-law Vera Veregin.
A very special thank you to Kamsack Home Care who spent time traveling to take care of mom at home, the staff at the Eaglestone Lodge for making mom feel at ease during her time there. As well as the doctor’s, nurses and staff at Kamsack District Nursing Home for their care and kindness.
A family graveside service will be held in 2022 at Veregin Cemetery, Veregin District, SK. Memorial donations in memory of Florence may be made to Kamsack Nursing Home Auxiliary as tokens of remembrance. To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit wolkowski.ca.
