Frederick Genaille was born on January 14, 1971 at Preeceville Union Hospital and had passed away peacefully at his home in Saskatoon, SK on July 23, 2025. His mother Mary, his son Damien and his sister Freda had made a special trip to see Fred when he was released from the hospital on July 17, 2025 with the hopes of fulfilling Fred’s wish to travel to Goodlands, Manitoba but due to poor health he was unable to make the journey.
Frederick Genaille leaves to mourn his passing his mother Mary Buydens, brother Fabian Genaille (Leanne), Sister Freda Genaille. He also leaves to mourn his passing his children Damien, Misty (Terry Moose), Tanis (Jerry Kishayinew), Angel Wolfe, Dylan Genaille, and his baby Alyss Genaille. Numerous aunties and uncles and friends he has met through the years.
Fred is predeceased by his grandparents Joseph and Mary Genaille, father George Nelson Genaille, step-father Edward Buydens. Sisters Florence Genaille and Felicia Genaille.
Fred was a talented artist, a hard worker and a welder by trade. He was a jack of all trades who passed his skills on to Lucinda and his baby Alyss. He spent many hours showing them how to do repair jobs on houses to which Lucinda has gained employment with the skills Fred had taught her. Fred was always willing to work at any job he was given from mechanics, carpentry, roofing and even pulled a few security shifts on Keeseekoose First Nation.
Fred was a fun-loving man who enjoyed a good drink, a good smoke and a good laugh. His baby Alyss was his world and he would patiently sit and let her paint his nails or doll him up with bright colored make-up. Fred liked to make people laugh and every once in a while, you would be entertained by him dressing up in an Elvis outfit or in a wig and dress.
Frederick Joseph Genaille will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He has left each of us with our own memories of time spent with him and it lightens our burdens to know he is suffering no more.
