James (Jim) Raabel

RAABEL, James (Jim) Erling February 9, 1967 – November 18, 2024 aged 57 years. James Erling Raabel passed away suddenly on November 18, 2024 at the age of 57. Jim was born on February 9, 1967 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was adopted when he was 4 by his loving parents Edna Beatrice (nee Smith) and Erling Raabel. He was raised at the family farm north of Pelly. James attended the Fort Livingston School in Pelly where he made lifelong friends Guy, Lorne, and Curtis. He moved to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan and received a Bachelor of Commerce in 1992. He worked in Yorkton briefly before taking over the family farm. He had three kids Ross, Jayden, and Julianna, who became the highlight of his life. He loved to take them in the tractor or combine with him to teach them all about the farm, snowmobiling, motorcycling and having many morning coffee conversations. He moved to Kamsack in 2015 to be closer to his kids. In Kamsack he met many great friends and his partner Shela Pasia, who brought him a lot of happiness, laughter, and travel. James is predeceased by his parents, Erling and Edna Raabel, his oldest son Ross, and his aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children Jayden and Julianna, his partner Shela, and many relatives and friends. The funeral service was held held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Norquay Covenant Church, Norquay, SK, with Pastor Marty Johnson officiating. Interment follows in Maloneck Cemetery, Pelly, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Norquay Covenant Church.
