Jeanne was the 11th child of 11 children born to Daniel and Mary (Nee Yurkiw) in the Mazeppa district on April 29, 1935. She married Benjamin Duchminski in 1954 and together they raised two son, Dennis and Alan. As a family they took numerous trips to the National Parks, and through out Saskatchewan visiting family. Jean enjoyed the holidays season with her Ukrainian Christmas table decorated immaculately with Ukrainian tapestry and many Ukrainian dishes prepared. Jeanne was a devoted woman to church with Easter being very special to her. She took pride in preparing her Easter baskets with Nachinka, Babka, Paska and garlic sausage. She was adamant that everyone was early to bed as Ukrainian Easter Sunday meant early to rise to get a spot in church. Her patience and talent was shown in her beautifully decorated Easter eggs.
Jeanne moved to Spruce Grove in 1974, where she and Ben raised their family. She worked part-time at Sears in West Edmonton Mall. She enjoyed helping Ben and the boys with Christmas lighting displays in the front yard each Christmas and on several occasions, winning the prize of the city's best lighting display.
She enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show every Saturday night, as well as watching Toronto Blue Jays baseball on TV. She also enjoyed looking at her flowers and doing crossword puzzles.
She is predeceased by her husband Ben in 2015 and her son Dennis in 2017. She is survived by her son, Alan.
