KAZAKOFF, Judy September 18, 1954 - February 12, 2020 aged 65 years
Judy Anne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 65. Judy Anne Kazakoff was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan on September 18, 1954, the second child of Alex and Anne Kazakoff and grew up on the family farm south of Veregin, Saskatchewan.
Judy was predeceased by her parents and survived by her brother, Lawrence (Colleen) and sister, Joanne (Joe).
Judy started her education at Wisnia School. After the first year, Wisnia School closed, transferring all the children to Veregin School. She attended Veregin until grade six, moving to Kamsack Junior High for grades 7 to 9, and then Kamsack Collegiate Institute (KCI) until graduation. Upon graduating from KCI, she enrolled in Kelsey Institute and graduated from Licensed Practical Nursing, then later she enrolled in the Wascana Institute Psychiatric Nursing course graduating from Wascana and obtaining her registration in 1981. Judy’s first position as an RPN was at Valley View Centre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, then later was recruited by the Alberta Health Services Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury in Ponoka, Alberta. She remained working there from 1990 to her retirement in 2015.
Along her path in life, Judy developed many friendships. She not only had a passion for her career, but also for gardening, crafts, cooking and entertaining. Her positive outlook and zest for life was demonstrated each day. Judy loved animals and through the years had many house cats. Her “fur babies” she called them.
Judy’s kind, caring and nurturing nature made her a great daughter, wonderful sister, understanding granddaughter and excellent skilled nurse.
She will greatly and deeply be missed.
Memorial Service was held August 8, 2020 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack, SK., with interment following at Veregin Cemetery, Veregin, SK. To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit wolkowski.ca
