Lawrence Off beloved husband of Violet Off of Pelly, SK passed away on November 25, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Lawrence was born on March 16, 1933 in St. Phillips District on the family farm. He went to school at Devonshire School until grade 9. He lived on the farm working until he was 21. He married Violet Rever on July 8, 1954 at St. Phillips Roman Catholic Church. He ran the farm from 1954-1969. He worked for Department of Highways starting in Kamsack in 1966. They moved to Esterhazy in 1969 finishing his career there in 1989. He later worked for IMC in the mine in 1989. He returned to Department of Highways as supervisor. When diagnosed with MS he went on disability then retired in 1998. They moved back to Pelly in 1999, into Richardson Square Senior Quadplex and later moved into a house.
His favourite place was the cabin at Clear Lake. He had many hobbies; weaving lawn chairs, braided coat hangers, knitted, crochet, helped quilting and cleaning all the berries Violet picked.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, first in Kamsack and then in Esterhazy. He is survived by his sisters, Frances, Irene and Terry. Wife Violet, children Barry (Sharon), Ron (Shirley) and Ruth. Eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, brother George, sisters Amy, Anne, Josie and Mary.
