Lenora was born on June 21, 1940 on the family farm near Saltcoats, SK the youngest of nine children born to Philip and Mary Nabozniak (nee Melenchuk). She received her education at Tupper School which was a three mile walk from home. She completed grade 9 at Tupper School then moved to Saltcoats to further her education by correspondence. She later moved to Calgary where she was employed at Burns Meat. She returned to Saltcoats where she met John Harasen. The man she would later marry. They married on July 14, 1959 at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox church south of Wroxton, Sk. Lenora and John started to farm, during this time they were blessed with five children. They continued to farm until John’s passing in 2005.
Lenora was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was successfully removed. As Lenora recovered from surgery it was then that her husband passed away. The farm was then sold and mom relocated to Kamsack where she purchased a house. She lived on her own until 2019, when she then went into the Kamsack Nursing Home.
Lenora was very hard working woman. She had a huge garden to tend to. She also raised pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. She was an amazing cook, no one ever left her house hungry. She was a very kind and loving person. She loved to visit with her friends and neighbours.
Lenora is predeceased by her husband John, in 2005 and her grandson Gregory in 2018, her sisters and brothers Mike Nabozniak, Ann Ross, Wesley Nabozniak, Ruth Olenick, Jean Winters, Joyce Crowell, Stanley Nabozniak, Nelda Nabozniak, Sisters-in-law Ann Tatham, Rose Ulicny, Helen Debicki, Mary Hanson, Kay Komfolio, Vicky McDowell and Sylvia Michalick.
She is survived by her children, Gwen (Guy) and her son John. Garvin (Bonnie), Ken and his children Kelcey, Kaitlin, Bailee. Richard (Jackie) and their children Kirby and Shaelyn. Gordon (Marlene) and their son Darren, and six great grandchildren. Brother-in-law Gordon Kahut and John Michalick.
Funeral Service will be held at Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm from Parkland Evangelical Church in Kamsack, Sk with Pastor Stephen Ruten officiating, Interment will take place at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Wroxton District, Sk.
