MALAKOFF – Mabel born August 15, 1927 – October 18, 2025 aged 98 years.
Mabel was born on August 15, 1927 on a farm near Veregin, Sk to parents John and Paula Zietsoff. She was the second youngest of four children.
She attended school at Virden Valley. When she completed school she worked at convenience store in Veregin. Mabel met Casper at a dance and nine months later they were married on November 10, 1949. Together they worked side by side farming and raising their four children. In the early 1970’s Casper and Mabel sold the farm near Pelly, Sk and moved to Regina. Mabel found work as a pastry chef at Little Bolvarit Restaurant. She worked there for nearly 30 years until her retirement. In 1986, Casper passed away. She was the first tenant to move into Stewart Court and resided there for over 30 years till her passing. Mabel enjoyed spending her spare time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Garry, daughter Winona (Gord) Martin, daughter-in-law, Joyce Malakoff, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Casper, son’s Rodney and Ben and daughter-in-law Patsy.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack. Karry Ann Nunn as celebrant. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, Sk. To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit wolkowski.ca
