Nola was born in Humboldt, SK to Garnet Donovan Whitmarsh and Catherine Mary Angela Whitmarsh (nee Therres). She was the third of four children. In the later 1950s, her father’s work with the CNR took the family to Hudson Bay, SK. It was while attending high school in Hudson Bay that Nola met Mervin Campbell. They dated, they wed and soon after their son, Warren was born. A year later, their second son, Craig came along to complete the family unit. Together, the family lived in Melville for a short time but settled in Kamsack in 1963.
Nola stayed home to raise the two boys and run the household, as Merv mostly worked away from home. In the mid 1970’s, Nola got her driver’s license and began to work outside the home at Madge Lake and the Kamsack Hospital. She loved dogs and cross-country skiing. She rode a motorcycle and even got a tattoo. She learned to be a strong independent woman in these middle years. As her husband’s work began to wind down, they took up a summer life of camping and fishing, gardening and dog walking.
Nola is survived by her two sons; Warren Lee (Marcia) of Esterhazy, M. Craig (Beverly Orr) of Big River, SK, her two grandchildren; David (Kendra) Campbell of Saskatoon, Theresa Campbell of Toronto, sister-in-laws June Whitmarsh (nee Rose), Bernice Foraie (nee Campbell) as well as many nieces and nephews.
She predeceased by her husband Mervin William Campbell (1936-2019), her parents, Garnet and Cathy, and three siblings, Meryn Rosback, Donna Howe and Garnet Whitmarsh Jr.
