Patricia Fisher Obituary

FISHER: Patricia, September 9, 1955 – November 28, 2022 Age 67 years

Patricia passed away peacefully at the age of 67 in her home on the evening of November 28, 2022. She was born on September 9, 1955 in Kamsack, SK to loving parents Harry and Pauline Glute (Gulak). She was baptized and confirmed at St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kamsack, and later became a member of the St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church.

She attended the Stratford country school until the age of 7, then moved to Yorkton with her family following the death of her father in 1963. In the 1970s after the passing of her mother Pauline, Patricia moved back to Kamsack and lived with her sister Adeline and brother-in-law Kasper Wosminity while finishing her education.

Patricia married Kenneth Fisher on May 3, 1975 at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. Together they raised two sons, Calvin and Trevor.

Patricia was treasured by those whose lives she touched in her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend. She gave warm hugs freely, and delivered them by mail in the many cards and letters she sent to the people she cared about. She skillfully tend her flowerbeds with pride, enjoyed watching birds at her feeder, and loved baking.  She enjoyed long walks, word-find puzzles, coffee with the ladies, and if you called on a Saturday night you would probably hear a Ukrainian polka in the background from the GX94 Saturday Night Get Together.

The greatest challenge Patricia faced was to continue with life after the loss of her husband Ken in 2007. She did this in part by taking care of others and trying new and different things, like working at the Eagle Stone Lodge after moving from the farm back to Kamsack. Surprising no-one who knew her, her home in Kamsack soon blossomed with both flowers and friendships.

Patricia is survived by her brother Bill Glute (Mary Anne), her sisters Lucail Eiffert (Art), Sylvia Price (Leslie), Maryann Beck (Jim), and her twin sister Pearl Glute. She is survived by her sons Calvin (Crystal, and their daughters Chloe and Cailey) and Trevor (Shantelle and their daughters Raelynn and Brooklynn), and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Pauline, her infant sister Patricia, her sister Adeline Wosminity (Kasper), her brother Gerald, her husband Ken, and his parents Edward and Leonilla Fisher.

Prayer Service was held December 6, at Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack, SK with Funeral Mass following Wednesday, December 7, at St Stephens Roman Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kuruvilla officiating.  Internment followed at the Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, SK.
