Paul Rybak Obituary

Paul was born in the Fort Pelly District of SK.  He was the 3rd of five children born to John and Polly Rybak (nee Barisinkoff). Early on, Paul lived with his mom and dad on the family farm in the Pretty View District and later in the Village of Veregin. During this time he worked for various jobs for farmers in the area until he was 30 years of age. At which time they moved to Kamsack and Paul began employment with the Town of Kamsack. Paul held various positions with the town, a career which lasted 35 years, beginning April 1st 1966, and going until his retirement on February 23rd, 2001 at age 65.  Paul was also very proud of his work with the local RCMP detachment, where he was employed as the groundskeeper. The Staff-Sargent of the detachment was even quoted as saying, “We have the best detachment grounds in all of Saskatchewan.”
Although never married, in retirement, Paul did find companionship and friendship with Edna Krasnikoff, with whom he remained close right up until the day he passed. Together, the two took numerous trips together, camping and traveling and spent a lot of time watching sporting events, with Paul’s favourites being the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Blue Jays and Saskatchewan Roughriders, as well as curling. Paul was also very caring and compassionate with Edna’s dog, Muffy, and was often seen around town taking her for numerous walks and treating her like she was his own. Paul was never one to shy away from helping out a neighbour, especially the elderly, whether it be cutting grass, shovelling snow or other odd jobs to help a friend.  Paul also loved being active, especially walking with his good friend Telford Brown, even as far as Madge Lake and back.

Paul leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory; common law wife, Edna Krasnikoff one brother; Ed, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and as well as Edna’s two daughters and their families.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, John and Polly, sisters; Ann, Verna and Marjorie, brother-in-law, Clarie, brother-in-law, Gordon and sister-in-law Mirriam as well as nephews, Murray, Robert and Darryl.
Memorial Service was held on November 13, 2021 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack, SK., with Pastor Stephan Ruten officiating.  Graveside service was held at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, SK.  Donations in memory of Paul maybe made to Yorkton S.P.C.A (79 7th Avenue, S.
