Pauline Kluchka Obituary

KLUCHKA, Pauline born June 23, 1936 - March 25, 2026 aged 89 years    It is with great sadness that the family of Pauline (nee Rotter) Kluchka announce her passing on March 25, 2026 at Kamsack Hospital at the age of 89. Pauline was born in Swan Plain, Saskatchewan to Alois and Katarina (nee Friesen) Rotter. She was always fiercely independent! Pauline attended Swan Plain country school. As a young lady she moved to Kamsack to live on her sister Ann’s farm and obtain employment. She worked on the farm with her sisters Ann and Edna then eventually moved to Kamsack to find other employment. She worked at a dry cleaners for several years and had a busy social life.

Pauline met the love of her life Oreyst in 1956 and they married in 1957. Together they raised four children and she was busy as a homemaker. She worked part time for a while then became a stay-at-home mom. Pauline throughout her life loved to sew, knit, crochet, cook, and had many crafting hobbies.  She enjoyed bowling and curling for many years and was a member of the Kamsack Jayceettes and the United Church Women Group. She also served as an executive member on committees for minor hockey, minor ball, women’s curling, figure skating, and air cadets. She always gave one hundred percent of her energy to every committee that she served on.

Pauline and Oreyst loved to travel with their family to visit her siblings who were located from Vancouver to Toronto. She always enjoyed camping and fishing locally at Madge Lake and at other lakes in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She loved to explore Western Canada., starting with a basic tent, then graduated to a tent trailer, then a Winnebago motorhome and finally fifth wheel trailers. Pauline and Oreyst also enjoyed travelling with friends and relatives to many destinations in Canada and USA, including Disneyland, Nashville, Hawaii, Las Vegas and many of them several times.

After Oreyst passed away in 2014, Pauline continued to travel to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Mexico, and of course to visit her siblings, children and grandchildren. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s activities, graduations, and weddings. She’s very proud of all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. After 55 years in her home on Miles Street, Pauline decided it was time to move into a spacious two-bedroom condo. She loved the new location and the view of the south river flats. She often rekindled old friendships and acquaintances. She loved the closeness of her neighbours and the ability to visit more often, even daily. Pauline enjoyed the regular card games, coffee sessions and the celebrations that were always dear to her.       Pauline is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Oreyst, siblings Anne, Mary, Edna, Kay and John.

She will always be lovingly remembered by her children: Kirk (Catherine), Cheryl (Herb), Roxane (Harry), and Byron; grandchildren: Alyshia (Matt), Adam (Julie), Devin (Julia), Matthew (Katherine), Ashley, Brandon, Jordis and Sarah; and great-grandchildren: Harlow, Fern, Cove, Sebastian and Edward; siblings Alice and Gary(Merlyn) and many nieces and nephews.
