Robert ( Cooney ) Michael Kozoswyst

KOZOSWYST – Robert Michael born April 21, 1955 – August 3, 2023 aged 68 years

Robert Michael (Cooney) was born in Kamsack on April 21, 1955 to parents Mike and Dorothy Kozoswyst. Bob grew up in Veregin. He attended school in Veregin and Kamsack.  After high school, Bob went to Ontario where he worked till his dad passed away. He moved home and stayed with his mom to help out.  In 1979, when Dot moved to Rhein where Bob stayed and continued to help her out till her passing.  Bob stayed in Rhein where he lived till his stroke in 2020, then became a resident of the Kamsack Nursing Home until his passing.  Growing up Bob played a variety of sports, he played ball in high school, then later with the Rhein Rockets and with Hyas Stone Pickers.  He took time to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Saskatchewan Roughriders play on tv.  He looked forward in playing cribbage with his nephew, Jeff.  Bob spent time at Librecht farm where Gary and Chad would let him do stuff.  Bob passed away peacefully at the Kamsack Hospital, he will be missed by everyone who knew him. 

                Bob is predeceased by his parents Mike in 1973, Dot in 2008, Brother Terry in 2015, nephew Jordan Stoll in 2016, brother-in-law Mike Letwiniuk in 2016.

                He is survived by his sisters Linda (Ken) Scrannge from Riely, Alberta children Chris (Danielle), Brett, Stacey (Dennis) and Troy sister Darlene (Gary) Liebrecht of Yorkton children Jeffery, Krissa (Mike), Chad (Erin), Wendy (Mark), Patsy Letwiniuk of Hyas sister-in-law Patti Strocen (Dan) Norquay and numerous great nieces and nephews and everyone who knew him.

                Private graveside service was held at Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, Sk with Rev. Karen Stepko officiating.  Donation in memory of Cooney maybe made to Rhein Community Centre.  To leave a note of condolences for the family please visit wolkowski.ca
