Wayne Douglas Burback Born Aug 4 1951- Jan 12 2021 aged 69 years

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wayne (Louie) Burback.

Wayne was born in Kamsack to Maria (nee Haberman) and Alexander Burback.  He was raised in the valley and went to public school in Togo and later went to high school in Kamsack.  He spent his early years helping on the farm and learning all the duties that comes with farming.  He moved with his parents to their new home in 1967.  His father passed away in 1973, and it was then that he started raising his own cattle and farming the land.  His mother passed away in 1986.

Wayne’s passion was being a farmer and he was the happiest on the tractor.  His favorite time of the year was combining time and getting the harvest in.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping and playing crokinole or card games.  He could even be found at Manitou Beach enjoying a massage.

In 1984, Wayne met his life-time partner and fell in love.  They enjoyed many years of companionship while working side by side - whether in the field or working with the cattle.  They enjoyed a trip to Vegas, but that was not where the luck was to be found.  Instead, he won on a Yorkton Terriers lotto, not once, but twice on the same ticket!  Additionally, on a different lotto, winning a trip to Phoenix.

Wayne is survived by his wife Barb of 37 years , sister Hilda, brothers Vern (Jean), Bill (Linda), Don (Marlene), his step daughter Bonnie (Mark), and four grandchildren, Jesse, Austin, Brianna and Brooke. As well, he has many nieces and nephews that meant a lot to him.  He will forever be remembered as “Uncle Louie”.

Wayne was predeceased by his father Alex, his mother Mary, brothers Melvin and Eddie, and stepson Bob. Wayne will be remembered by many and forever missed by all.

Memorial Donation in memory of Wayne may be made to Kamsack Wildlife Federation, Box 1108, Kamsack, Saskatchewan, S0A 1S0 as token of remembrance.
