Bessie Leadbeater

   LEADBEATER, Bessie – March 30, 1928 – August 7, 2016, entered eternal rest at the Kamsack Hospital at the age of 88 years.  Bessie was the first of twelve children, born to William and Katie Bugutsky (nee Krakalovich) on the home quarter in the Poplar Bluff District, north of Pelly. She attended school at the Maloneck School until the age of 16 and later became employed at the Fort Livingstone Hotel and later Pelly Snack Bar.

   On January 25, 1949 in Winnipeg, MB., Bessie married Norman Leadbeater. On March 2, 1949 their first child, Patricia Elaine was born. Then 3 years later to the day, hour and minute the second daughter Linda Lee was born.  At this time the family was living on the farm on, in the Sunny Isle District, north of Pelly. In 1955, the family moved to the Village of Pelly.  On October 19, 1958 a third daughter Shelly Ann was born.  Due to complications the baby was stillborn. In 1961, the family moved back to the farm in the Sunny Isle District.  On November 4, 1961 their fourth daughter Lyla Noreen was born. Bessie and Norman continued to reside on the farm until 1995 at which time due to Norman’s health moved to Yorkton.  On March 25, 1998 Norman passed away.  Bessie then moved back to the Village of Pelly where she stayed until March 20, 2016 when she moved into Kamsack Nursing Home.

   She is survived by her loving children; Patricia (Miles) Prokipchuk, Linda (George) Russell, Lyla (Fred) Vanin, Seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, siblings; Sylvia, Teddy, Beatrice, Ernie, Eugene and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

   Bessie is predeceased by her husband, Norman parents; Katie and William daughter, Shelly Ann, two grandchildren, siblings; Johny, Mike, Johnny, Nettie, Marie and Rose.

   Funeral Service was held on August 13, 2016 from the Pelly Community Hall, Pelly, Sk., with Laura Dahl officiating interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Pelly District, Sk.
