Joan Malayney

MALAINEY, Joan Vivian born May 25, 1944 – January 15, 2017 aged 72 years. Joan passed away at Regina General Hospital. Joan was born to parents, Alex and Alma Fromm (nee Leffler) in the Runnymede District, SK. She attended Mylor School in the Togo/Runnymede District. On November 22, 1981, she married James Malainey and together they made their home in Kamsack. Joan’s care giving personality extended into her career. She provided a daycare service out of her home, care taker, meals on wheels and a care aide at Kamsack Eaglestone Lodge and in The Pas. In 2009, Joan retired from the Eaglestone Lodge. She enjoyed trips to Minot, listening to Elvis Presley, watching tv, embroidering and spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her husband of 35 years James, son Garth (Tracy) their children Taylor and Carson; two daughters Crystal (Andrew) their children Paloma, Piper and Charity, and Carrie (Randall) their children Chase and Paige.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service, Kamsack, SK., with Pastor Karen Stepko officiating, Friends who so desire may make memorial contributions to the Kamsack Eagelstone Personal Care Home as tokens of remembrance.
