Ducheminsky, Josephine (Joey) October 15, 1920 - July 20, 2016

It is with profound sadness that the family announces that Josephine (Joey) Ducheminsky (nee Paluck) beloved wife of the late Edward Ducheminsky of Veregin, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2016 at the age of 95 years.

Joey was born on October 15, 1920 at Kamsack, Saskatchewan.  She attended school in Kamsack where she excelled until having to leave school due to the early passing of her father. Joey worked at Averyn’s Clothing Store in Kamsack, where she met Edward Ducheminsky. Ed and Joey were married on November 4, 1943.  After getting married, Joey moved out to the farm south of Veregin with Edward where they raised six sons. Joey loved to take care of her family and was quick to tell people about their many accomplishments. Joey’s Catholic faith was very important to her; she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada.

She will be sadly missed by her children Ron (Polly), Doug (Laurie), Bryant (Norma) and Mark (Theresa), grandchildren Shelley, Kara, Jeremy, Dallas, Tiffany (Curtis), Robbyn and Amanda, great grandchildren Madyson, Aiden, Max and Lucas, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Josephine was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Catherine, her husband Edward, sons Robert and Richard, granddaughter Tricia, sisters Jesse, Vicki and Pauline, brothers Paul and Walter.

Mass of Christian Burial was held July 26, 2016 from St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Marcin Mironiuk, OMI officiating. Interment followed at Sliding Hills Christian Cemetery – Mazeppa District. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Women’s League as token of remembrance.
