Demchuk, Olga – May 12, 1925 – October 20, 2015, entered eternal rest at the Canora Gateway Lodge at 90 years of age.

Olga was born to Steve and Josephine Biletsky (nee Yastremski) in the Fort Pelly District, south of Pelly, Sk. Olga grew up on the family farm in the Fort Pelly District with her three brothers; Albert, Paul and Edward. As a child, Olga attended Kowalowka School which was in the Tiny, Sk. District.

Olga married Alex Demchuk on June 4th, 1944 in the Orthodox Church in Canora. They settled in the Burgis District and devoted their livelihood to farming. It was during this time that Olga and Alex welcomed their son Allan and daughter Arlene into the world. In 1957, the Demchuk Family left the farm and moved into Canora. Olga was employed at the Co-op Creamery, while Alex worked at the bakery. A few years later they welcomed the addition of their third child, Deborah to their family.

Olga loved to visit with friends and family and loved to play bingo. She had a passion for gardening from seeding to harvest time. She liked to knit and crochet and took pride in making hats, scarves and sweaters for her grandchildren.

Olga is survived by son Allan (Gloria) Demchuk, daughters; Arlene (Bill) Kitzan, Deborah Reihl, grandchildren; Brenda (Chris) Bohun, Lori Chabun, Darren (Nancy) Chabun, Austin Reihl, one great-grand daughter Heidi Chabun and by one brother Edward (Eleanor) Belitsky of Oakville, Ontario.

Olga is predeceased by her parents; Steve and Josephine, husband Alex, brothers Albert and Paul.

Prayers were held October 23rd, 2015 and the Funeral Service was held October 24th, 2015 both from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service – Canora with Rev. Fr. Michael Faryna officiating.
