Joe Norrish Obituary

William Joseph (Joe) Norrish - Obituary Joe Norrish, 90, of Buchanan, entered into eternal rest January 1, 2019 at the Invermay Health Centre. Joe was born on December 3, 1928 to William and Annie Norrish (nee McMaster) of Carrot River, SK. Joe took his schooling at Cosmo School, where he completed his Grade 8. He then helped his dad farm until November 1952. While in Carrot River, he met the love of his life, Luise Loretta Albiez. They were married on November 26, 1952 in Carrot River. In the spring of 1953, the couple moved to Alberta where Joe was employed. Ten years later, they moved to Saskatchewan, living in various locations, finally making Buchanan home in 1974. Joe was a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years, working in various locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan, retiring in 1993. Joe and Luise were blessed with four children: Tim, Wendy, Stanley, and Donna. Joe loved fishing, sports, especially football, hockey and curling, playing cards, cats, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Joe is survived by son, Tim, daughter, Wendy, son, Stanley (Melanie), daughter, Donna, four grandchildren, Orry, Trevor, Mitchell and Cameron, sister, Rose (Dan) Scherr, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Luise, his parents (William and Annie), his step-mother, Gertrude, his sisters, Ethna Wolowski, Eileen Peel, brothers, Gerald, Albert, and John. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Buchanan, with interment to follow at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Buchanan. Memorial donations can be made to St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church or to The Buchanan Community Centre.
