Angeline (Angie) Cherwenuk Obituary

Cherwenuk, Angeline (Angie) Mary (nee Martinkowski) beloved wife of Peter Cherwenuk of Kamsack, entered into rest at the Kamsack Hospital, on April 24, 2022 at the age of 84 years.

Born on September 21, 1937 in the Pelly district to Stan and Annie Martinkowski, Angie was the oldest of their 3 children.  Angie grew up on the family farm and enjoyed picking mushrooms and berries every chance she could.  The love of Saskatoon berries carried on throughout her life!  Angie became an LPN and had a successful career in nursing.  She absolutely loved children and took as many shifts in the children's ward as she possibly could.  This love of children continued after her retirement roughly 30 years ago, when she started to babysit for numerous families for numerous years.  Each child Angie looked after left a lasting impression on her.  Angie also took pride in her volunteer work with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Kamsack Hospital.
Angie loved roses of all colors and had those all throughout their yard.  She enjoyed watching the birds in their yard, going for Sunday brunch in Togo, driving out to Madge Lake and making perogies and cabbage rolls.  Every chance she got, she made dumpling soup for her granddaughters (this was a frequent request!), and you could always find a word search book or two within her reach.
Angie is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Peter, their son Anthony (Jackie, and their children, Elizabeth and Mackenzie) and her son Curtis.  She is also survived by her step daughter Deborah (children Amanda (Scott and their son Liam), Aaron, Breanna (Justin), Michael (Sarah), her step son Les (Michele and children Grant, Graham (Lyndsay and their daughter Charli), her sister Irene and numerous nieces and nephews.
Angie was predeceased by her parents, brother Stanley, son Kevin, brother-in-law Arthur, and nephew Bruce.
Special thanks goes to Jean and Albert Rose for their friendship, support, and help over the last number of years while Peter and Angie maneuvered Angie's ailing health.
A Funeral Service will be held May 4, 2022 from the Chapel of Wolkowski Funeral Service – Kamsack, with Gwen Reilkoff officiating. Interment followed at the Riverview Cemetery.
