Hewitt M. Getty

Hewitt was born to parents Robert and Jilina (nee Tisdale) in Moose Jaw, SK. He was the second oldest of five children.  He attended Maloneck School.  When he was done school he worked with a logging company near the Campbells Mill area, north of Maloneck.  Hewitt drove gravel truck in the Denholm, SK area that is where he met the love of his life, Irene.  On February 29, 1959 they were married.  Soon after they moved to the Getty family farm where together they farmed, raised livestock, and two sons.

Hewitt enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  He really never did "retire", he just slowed down.  This gave time for him and Irene to travel to Alberta and British Columbia to visit family and friends. 

Hewitt is survived by his son, Tom and grandson Matt, brother Tom, sisters Shirley and Donna and sister-in-law Mabel.

 He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Jilina, wife Irene, son Robert and sister Dorothy. 

Memorial Service was held July 14, 2018 at Pelly Community Hall, Pelly, SK. interment followed at Maloneck Cemetery, Maloneck District, Sk., with Valda Dahlin officiating.  Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to Pelly United Church or to Pelly Happy Hearts Drop-in Centre.  To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit Wolkowski.ca.
