Larry Holowka from Yorkton, SK., passed away on May 4, 2019 from the Yorkton District Nursing Home at the age of 70 years.
Larry was born in the Yorkton hospital to Harry and Angeline (Kolodziejak). He grew up on the family farm and attended the Otthon school. Early in life, Larry began to learn different trade skills including welding and iron work. As a farmer most of his life, (and later an organic farmer) Larry was an excellent mechanic; always fixing up his old vehicles and farm equipment.
With a gentle soul and a deep appreciation for nature and her animals, Larry enjoyed housing any and all creatures on his farm. When not farming, Larry loved to travel and was fascinated by the cultures he experienced. While primarily a grain farmer, for a time Larry raised Maine-Anjou cattle and entered them in shows. Later he raced homing pigeons as a hobby. He was an avid believer in healing himself through healthy living.
Larry was deeply spiritual and loved the Lord. An incredibly devoted and loving father, he leaves behind his daughter, Melanie Holowka, his sister Rose (Geiger) and many wonderful friends and neighbours.
Funeral Service was held, May 8, 2019 from Parkland Community Church, Yorkton, SK., (78 S Front Street). Graveside service at St. Cunegunde Roman Catholic Cemetery, Otthon District, SK. To leave a note of condolence for the family please visit wolkowski.ca
