Laurel (Laurie) Ducheminsky Obituary

Laurel (Laurie) was the first born daughter of Paul and Joyce Bloodoff (nee MacLean).  The new family lived in Yorkton until November 1964 after which they moved to Kamsack to the family farm on the west side of town.  Laurie called the farm home until she married in 1980. Laurie loved the farm.  She cared for the animals, cats, kittens and especially loved Gypsy the little black dog.  She had many pet cats and dogs over the years that she loved dearly.  Growing up on the farm with her brother Brad and the younger Hunter boys made her rough and tough, she could hold her own with the bunch.  She attended school in Kamsack and graduated from the Kamsack Collegiate Institute in 1979.  During her school years she took part in 4-H, figure skating and completed her Grade 7 piano.  She married Terry Fatteicher on April 12, 1980 and they had two children, Jeremy and Tiffany.   Life took her elsewhere in 1987 and she lived in Regina for a little over a year, back to Kamsack and then in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta for a short while.  All roads led back to Kamsack and in 1992, she settled back in and started working at Rosowsky and Campbell law office, where she stayed until 2010.   She married Doug Ducheminsky on July 6, 1996 and together they made a life with friends and family.  She loved kids and was always surrounded by her nieces and nephews and later on grandchildren.  She and Doug liked travelling, sledding, golfing, socializing with friends and cheering on the Roughriders.   Laurie loved to knit, cross-stitch and crochet.  She enjoyed reading true crime novels, playing the piano, watching reruns of 70s TV shows, and tending to her household and outside perennial plants.
She is survived by her husband, Doug, her daughter, Tiffany (Curtis) Stone, her son Jeremy (Stefanie) Fatteicher, her mother, Joyce MacLean (Fritz Herbster), her step-mother, Lavina Bloodoff, her brother Bradley Bloodoff,  sister Kyla (Archie) Eiffert and step-sister Gina Lynch, her brothers-in-law Ron Ducheminsky,  Mark Ducheminsky, and Bryant (Norma) Ducheminsky, her grandsons Aiden, Max and Lucas and granddaughter Madyson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.
Laurie was predeceased by her father, Paul Bloodoff, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Josephine Ducheminsky, her brothers-in-law Robert and Richard Ducheminsky and sister-in-law Polly Ducheminsky.
Laurie will be missed by all.
