Lorne Poole Obituary

POOLE, Lorne born September 12, 1928 – March 5, 2019 aged 90 years.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorne Poole. Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

     Lorne Poole, born in Spring Hill Manitoba on September 12, 1928 to Robert and Elizabeth Poole, passed March 5, 2019 at the age of 90 years at the Kamsack District Nursing Home. Lorne moved to Calgary in 1954, and married Molly Poole (nee Chernoff of Veregin.) in 1959. Lorne and Molly raised their family of six children in Calgary, Alberta. He worked various jobs in Calgary. CPRail, Iverson heating, He had many great friends in Calgary. Lorne and Molly moved to the farm north of Veregin, Saskatchewan and built their retirement home in 1982. He loved to watch the birds out his living room window, building things in his shop for his children or friends children. 

     Lorne loved his community.  He became the Curator of the Kamsack Museum in 1984 - 93. He enjoyed this part of his life immensely, working with students and people from all walks of life. Lorne was also the grounds keeper for the Veregin Cemetery.  Lorne was very much involved with the senior groups of both Veregin and Kamsack. Lorne loved to play bridge, snooker, and cards and to go fishing when he could. 

     Life's greatest moments were the birth of his six children. Linda Poole of Calgary, Lorna Cole (Dennis) of Calgary, grandchildren Debra (Michael) great grandson Hayden. Dawn, great grandchild Aylssa. Dennis Jr.,  great grandchild  Zoe, Louise Noakes (Chris) of Windsor, Ont. and grandchild Jennifer Booth (Mark) of Oklahoma City, OK. Leslie Poole (Ching-Ni) of Calgary, grandchildren Rebecca and Felix and Nathaniel (Racheal) of Hamilton, Ont., great grandchildren Haley and Tyler Loretta Milk of Canora, grandchildren Haliday and William of Ottawa, Lorraine Leduc of Calgary and grandchildren Derek and Elizabeth,  brother Don of  Calgary and many nieces and nephews. 

Lorne was predeceased by his parents Robert and Elizabeth, his sister Joy, and brother George.

 A loving father, grandfather, and the greatest-great grandfather. Christ our Lord is with him now and he is forever in our hearts. Your prayers for him are greatly appreciated.
