Margaret Steed Obituary

Margaret Steed born June 14, 1921 in Kelty, Scotland passed away peacefully at the Kamsack and District Nursing Home, February 3, 2022 at the age of 100.  It is with sadness and celebration that her son, David Clark of Kamsack, and daughter Sheila Maxwell of Toronto, say good bye to our Mother, Grandmother of 2 and Great Grandmother of 5.
After the family immigrated to Canada in 1951, Mom began working as a seamstress. She had a keen eye for fashion and soon became involved with the clothing industry as a clerk, buyer, and manager in several location in Alberta before moving to British Columbia to manage a department store in Burnaby till her retirement.

Mom sang in several church choirs and played both the piano and organ. She was an accomplished chef and enjoyed entertaining her many friends and acquaintances in her home, playing the organ and singing together.
In 2004 at the ‘young’ age of 82, Mom relocated to Kamsack to spend her remaining years before her ‘big sleep’ as she called it. She resided at Davies Towers and Eaglestone Lodge for about 15 years before moving to the Nursing Home in 2019.
One of her friends of over 55 years described “Margie” as one of the strongest friendships he had ever had.  So many great memories of the good old days…shared through the years.  She was vibrant; with such a great sense of fun…enjoying entertaining and cooked like a chef…a life well lived.
Good Bye Mom…till we meet again.
