Shay Kallwin Shingoose was born in Kamsack to parents Tex Shingoose and Courtney Shingoose (Stevenson) he was the second youngest of four children. Shay grew up on Cote First Nation. He always enjoyed sports but his passion was hockey, he was known as a talented goalie, who won many championships through minor hockey and with the Cote Selects. He was huge Toronto Maple Leaf fan.
Shay had a contagious personality that came with a great sense of humor. He knew how to make people smile and laugh. He knew many people, and many knew him. Shay is a family man, who loved and cherished his children dearly. You wouldn't see Shay without one of his kids by his side. Shay wasn't only a great father, he was also a great brother, son, friend, who will be missed by many.
Shay is predeceased by his grandparents - paternal - Irene Shingoose and Edwin Cote, maternal - Delores Stevenson and Everette Cote mother Courtney Shingoose, uncle Clifton Stevenson and uncle Law (Hammer) Shingoose and special cousin Kingsley Shingoose.
He is survived by his children Jeremaih Cote, Courtney Shingoose, Kayne Cote, Shayna Shingoose, father Tex Shingoose, siblings Farrah Stevenson, Karson Shingoose, Wenden (Pauline) Shingoose, nieces Vida Stevenson and Emily Shingoose.
